Sarvesh Thakur
I am a second year PhD student at Vision Lab, at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi (IITD), where I am advised by Prof. Chetan Arora. My research interests are in Dense Visual SLAM pipelines for monocular and thermal cameras, particularly for Indian Traffic Scenarios.
Before this, I was Kohli Research Fellow at IIIT-H, working under Prof. Madhava Krishna. Here, I worked on Unsupervised Point Cloud Registration Pipeline and Automated Building Assessment through Drones.
I have also worked as a Computer Vision Engineer at Summit Technology Laboratory, a projection software research startup headed by Prof. Aditi Majumder. Here, I developed multiple interaction modalities for huge shape-irrespective projection displays. One of the projects is documented in the paper Ambient Light Tolerant Laser-Pen Based Interaction with Curved Multi-Projector Displays, HCI International 2022.
In 2020, I graduated with a Masters degree in Robotics from the University of Maryland, College Park. My projects spanned across various domains such as Robot Modeling, Control, Perception, Planning and Machine Learning. Before this, I completed my Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from ABES EC, AKTU in 2018. During this time, I worked on developing various types of drones, mostly focussed on the designs aspects of fixed wings and multi-rotors.
