Sarvesh Thakur
I am a first year PhD student at the Robotics Research Center, at the International Institute of Informational Technology, Hyderabad (IIIT-H), where I am advised by Prof. Madhava Krishna. My research interests are developing and refining with time but are currently focussed around the navigational challenges of autonomous robots. I am currently looking into existing research in the differentiable SLAM networks, providing insight into the input to the SLAM pipelines.
Before this, I worked as a Computer Vision Engineer at Summit Technology Laboratory, a projection software research startup headed by Prof. Aditi Majumder. Here, I developed multiple interaction modalities for huge shape-irrespective projection displays. One of the projects is documented in the paper Ambient Light Tolerant Laser-Pen Based Interaction with Curved Multi-Projector Displays, HCI International 2022.
In 2020, I graduated with a Masters degree in Robotics from the University of Maryland, College Park. My projects spanned across various domains such as Robot Modeling, Control, Perception, Planning and Machine Learning. Before this, I completed my Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from ABES EC, AKTU in 2018. During this time, I worked on developing various types of drones, mostly focussed on the designs aspects of fixed wings and multi-rotors.
